frequently asked questions

how it all happens?

After you book your session, we will set a date to meet via online video chat for your pre-session consultation, where we will talk through what you have in mind for your session and what is needed to make that happen. Day of the session starts with a nice cuppa and outfit planning, followed by hair and makeup. Then we will start your fully guided photo session and gradually move through all the outfits/sets. We usually have time for up to 4 outfit changes.

About a week after your photo session you will be invited back to the studio for in-person viewing appointment, where you will get to see my selection of images from your session ( completed with my signature retouch style) and decide which ones you want to take home.

I do not know how to pose and always feel stiff and awkward in front of the camera. How will I survive the session?

From experience I know how silly and uncomfortable we feel when we have no idea what to do and how to perform in a certain situation. I know how difficult it is to be relaxed and yourself in front of the camera and I acknowledge the natural discomfort of being “on the spot”. Luckily while you are with me in the studio you can relax about it all. I have this special power of putting you at ease and capturing the best of you. You don’t need to know what to do in front of the camera. This is my part ;) From the moment you step in front of my camera I will fully guide you through all the posing - you will just mirror me and off we will flow. I have several years of experience in posing women, so I will know what to do and how to position you to enhance the beauty you already have. We will not rush through it, we will chat and laugh….and as in most of my clients- after the first few minutes of nervousness pass, you will absolutely enjoy the rest of the session with ease and excitement.

I am an everyday woman, not a model.
I am longer/shorter/curvier/older/not that photogenic/not that confident/etc.
Are you sure that I can still look good in the photographs?

None of my clients are professional models and they don’t need to be. However, I think that every woman deserves to have a portrait so beautiful that she might be taken for a professional model. The women you see on this website are business women, moms, wives, sisters…etc.. They are who you might bump into on a walk to the shop or during the school run.
They all trusted me to create beautiful and impactful portraits of them and were not disappointed. I believe you won’t be disappointed as well :)

when and where do the sessions take place?

I only book one session a day so you don't have to feel rushed and we can flow in your tempo and be sure to get the results you we are aiming for. The photo session starts at 10.30 in the morning.

At your portrait session is going to be in my cozy home studio in Over (CB24 ), giving you personalized attention and comfort.

how long does the session take?

You should expect to spend around 3 hours in the studio.  It sounds like a lot of time, but believe me - it will just fly and we will be done before you know it.

can I book a weekend photo session?

Yes, you can book a session on a Sunday. Sunday sessions start at 10.30 am.

do you photograph families?

Yes, I photograph families with children over the age of 5.

how far in advance should I book my session?

I recommend that women have their shoot date scheduled for about 2 months prior to needing the finished product in-hand. Also, being a one-woman show, I tend to book up very quickly and relatively far in advance. For weekday availability, you should email me to schedule at least a month and a half in advance. That said, DON'T WAIT to email me! It's never too early to get on my schedule. Your photo reveal appointment will be approximately 1 week after your photo session, and your finished product (depending on what you order) will arrive between 3 and 6 weeks after that.

Do you offer hair & makeup?

Yes, I will do your hair and make-up, as I do for all my clients, including all the women you see in my portfolio.

how do I choose the outfits for the session?

We will discuss the outfits during our pre-session consultation and what the best choices would be will largely depend on your vision and needs. I have very helpful preparation guides to read before your headshot or boudoir session. They will give you ideas and general rules about what clothes to bring and how to prepare, so you don’t have the feeling that you’ve missed something.

how much should I expect to spend on my photographs?

At the moment most of my clients spend between £ 300 and £ 900 for their photo experience and beautiful photographs.  You can see my price list here.

boudoir related questions

what should I wear?

This is probably the most popular question I get….and the answer is simple…whatever you feel beautiful in. My signature style is the "effortless cool girl" look, which, lucky for you, involves things you likely already have in your closet.  A bodysuit, an oversized sweater, cropped sweatshirt and panties, a robe, sleep shirt, your favorite leather jacket...you get the idea. … You might like to bring lingerie… And many clients choose to do a nude set during their session.  In a 2-hour photo session, you will typically have time for up to 3 “looks” or outfits (yes, "nude" counts as an outfit)! Don't stress to much about wardrobe. I can spend an entire hour shooting a woman with no other wardrobe than the bed sheets and completely rock it out. Once you've booked your session with me, you will also receive a detailed preparation guide that will help you with wardrobe considerations!

i see that you offer both beauty *and* boudoir photography. What is the difference?

Boudoir portrait photography involves a certain level of undress (either lingerie, loungewear, other intimate apparel, or nothing at all. These images tend to be a little bit more raw, candid, unposed looking (although I do give you guidance on posing throughout the whole shoot). These are meant to embrace a woman's femininity, sensuality and independence. Because of the posing and wardrobe, these images tend to be more intimate in nature. I will create "detail" shots such as legs, butt, breasts, back and shoulders, lips, as well as full body images. With your boudoir images I try to help you see yourself from a different perspective and see your beauty from angles you can’t see in the mirror. I want to improve your perception about your own beauty and bring confidence and body love back into your mind.

Beauty portraiture is a bit more polished...with a finished "fine art" look and feel.  Beauty portraiture is a great option for a woman who wants a smaller collection of absolutely breath-taking portraits of herself that are wall-worthy.  This is a great option for women who may be a bit intimidated by the idea of a boudoir session. Wardrobe for a beauty session can be a ball gown, little black dress, a lace bodysuit, fabric draping, or even nudity.  Our beauty portraits always contain the full face and at least the shoulders up. There are more special effects such as fine art textures and extensive retouching done on these images.

the boudoir images on your website are very tasteful and pretty,
but what if i wanted to get a little more...um...risque?

On the scale from 1-10 on the "erotic" meter, my style is more of a 3. What you see on my website and on my social media is a very accurate representation of what I offer in the "sexy" department. I do shoot an array of clothed, partially clothed, tasteful nudes, exposed breasts and bums but I never try to fit any woman into the ” sex toy “ box. I want to emphasize the grace and beauty of the female form in a very tasteful, dreamy and artistic way. If you are someone looking for more erotic style photography – I am not your perfect fit, as this just isn't what I offer. However, if you love what you see in my portfolio, I'm your girl.

Will you publish my images on your social accounts or use them in your website/blog/portfolio?

I, of course, would LOVE to use images from our session together to show other women your amazing photos!  The main idea is to share a part of your personality and provide the encouragement to other women to celebrate their femininity with confidence. I will do this only after I have your permission on that! I will honor whatever level of privacy you would like. Many clients are so proud of their images that they give me full discretion to choose images for my portfolio, other prefer to choose the images that are posted, and some clients are comfortable with anything being posted, as long as it’s after a certain date.  Just let me know where you stand on the topic and I will honor your wishes!
